Clemens Krauss's grave

　One is this. It is that I participate in the international conductor master class of the national Moravian Philharmony orchestra sponsorship that was held with Olomouc of Czecho suddenly and this orchestra chosen me by the excellent interpretation conductor of symphony No. 4 of R.Schumann there and be commended and obtained the promise of a concert and recording.

Another is that it could visit to the grave of Clemens Krauss of my hope from before.

　 Getting, CD of Clemens Krauss that there was not the chance that listens to the performance actually although the name knew well from before, when I was going to study to Vienna several years ago I became to his believer.

　 Many performances of Clemens Krauss direction, by chance or the series of CD that commemorated Wien Filharmoniker foundation 150 in the city of Vienna in the postperiod was included while it was launched one after another. I shopped around for it.

　 Even if the fan from before is natural I did not know that his grave exists to here EHRWALD. And, I am nonexistent although the national graveyard of Vienna is searched, inquired of Musicferrain. They say to wait the several days and that the answer came furthermore was the previous day of homecoming.

　 I and my friend Flutist leave the Vienna west station at 7:35 on July 26, 1994 and arrive at Innsbruck at 12:45 and change for a local train and cross the Germany border and change for a small mountain climbing train with town Garmisch-partenkirchen that R.Strauss loved and arrival to destination EHRWALD.

　There is not in addition to a station building here and I who thought to arrive to the town of EHRWALD directly felt bewilderment.

　When we follow other passengers there is bus stop and am shaken at the bus about 10 minutes and arrive at the village with EHRWALD finally.

　 We fixed the hotel at Hotel Sonnenspitze (the copy real building of the right). When I asked the grave, it was such an answer that is the graveyard of the church back to near right away, although I thought that it is the place where parted to this mountain probably.

　This left building is the church and the tower like the mosque was an impressive building.

　The contrast with the highest mountain of Germany, the ZUGSPITZE, that increase to it and rise to the back were very impressive to me.

　I was able to understand, the feeling of Clemens Krauss that made here the eternal ground.

　 I thought to, that the affection to them of the persons of the village of here continues yet, with the manner that always someone is decorating flowers like this very joyfully.

　There is the cross that was made to the front with iron and the message from the member of Musikferein had been written.

　I did not understand to me well regretfully, although seems to there is the grave of the notable person of Austria in addition in this graveyard.

　It is the Innsbruck str. the street toward the west from the center of the village which this church exists. And 22 addresses are his house. 　Photo3:

　 Make a detour the street also and there is the field the alley that paints an arc. It was named it the Clemens Krauss weg. 　Photo2:

　When we go this way it is seen that a peaceful plain spreads. I had the deep emotion to seen the view , that he had seen that always from the window of his house.
　It may be seen Gartnerwand peak (2364ｍ) of the round spine and the Grubigstein（2233m） peak where was also steep from the window of the opposite side. (The mountain of the hotel copy real background) 　Photo4:

　 The event of a classic car was open with this day here. The photograph has spoiled and has take it regretfully, although we could see a considerably various classic car.

　 I awoke with the sound of "garagara, gorogoro" in the morning on July 27.
　 It was the sound of "the cowbell" of cow that goes to the grass area of the mountain what.
　 I was deeply impressed again when here is Tyrol.

　 Because the day is not yet in the ground of the place between mountains the morning sun that hit in the Grubigstein (2233 m) peak where was seen from the window was beautiful.
　The photograph in the time is this. I am not able to sleep anymore, when I think that even Clemens Krauss was seeing such a view too from the window of the south probably.

　 Today we are going to try to climb to mountain ZUGSPITZE that rises to the border of Germany and Austria.

　When we go to the opposite side of the village from the station by bus there is the platform of the Zugspitzbahn.

　There is Zugspitzbahn from here EHRWALD and the thing that will climb this mountain, from another Germany.

　 Therefore there is the customs in the summit and there are 2 summits.
　 That it is very interesting the north side the Austria south side is Germany. North and South is opposite.

　 The view of the window of the right and left that we see from the Zugspitzbahn that climbs the summit is not only vast for our musicians and give a meaning deep impression.

　The view of the west that is seen to the right is EHRWALD. We are able to take the whole in one view Garmisch-partenkirchen, that the Winter Olympics of Germany was held and R. Strauss loved left. The far other side is Vienna.

　 Even the view of the north side is very vast from this summit. This there are the beautiful castle, Schloss Neuschwanstein of Lutvigh who was protection person of R. Wagner over there.

　 We got out of the mountain and visited to the grave of Ｃｌｅｍｅｎｓ Krauss again and go to the way home.

　 By the bus through the Fernpass road with the west circumference to Innsbruck, and we returned to Vienna by train.

　 I faced a way home, with the thought that the respect to Clemens Krauss deepened again with this trip.
